Andrew Darling – Founder & CEO
The Writing Machine is founded and managed by Andrew Darling who has been
a member of the Fourth Estate for more than 10 years. He writes about
communications technology and media for a number of highly respected publications
and journals, including: The Times, The Guardian, New Media Age, InformationWeek,
IT Week, Computing, Computer Weekly, Mobile Communications International,
Wireless E-volution, 3GSM World Focus, Planet Wireless and Communications
International.
In 2002 Andrew joined AMF Ventures, a strategic advisory and investment
company focused on the TMT sector as a consultant. In addition, Andrew
sits on the board of The WiFi Ecademy, the largest WiFi community in the
world, as director of communications.
In 1999, Andrew was Editorial Director of MforMobile, a news and analysis
website focused on the mobile content and applications market. MforMobile
also produced several highly successful conferences and networking events
in London, New York, Stockholm, Cannes and San Jose.
Prior to his career as a journalist Andrew was a commercial lawyer working
for City firm Lovells
As a young journalist, Andrew worked in the Northwest Frontier Province
of Pakistan where he reported on the United Nations and other international
aid organisations’ activities in Afghanistan and Southern Asia
for international news organisations.
Andrew holds a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Postgraduate Diplomas in Journalism
and Law, and a Legal Practice Certificate.

Tony Fish
Tony is CEO of AMF Ventures.
An experienced international business professional with a reputation of exceptional
man management skills and delivery. Tony is known for his innovative approach,
strategic and economic insight, analysing, matching and executing merger
and acquisition activities within blue chip corporations as well entrepreneurship
and shrewd business decisions with regard to early stage businesses and their
growth. Tony can demonstrate over 14 years of experience in both the mobile
and fixed telecommunications arenas as well as venture capital.
Tony has been associated with high tech investing since his first IPO in
1994.
Tony also chairs the world's largest WiFi Community at www.wifi.ecademy.com.

Gibbs
Luke Gibbs is a freelance writer and public affairs consultant. He takes an interest
in regulatory structure, process and practice, particularly in the media, telecoms
and technology sectors.
Luke established Ofcomwatch in
2003. The site is an online resource commenting on the processes and practices
of the new communications sector regulator – Ofcom.
Luke worked for the FCO at the British Embassy in Washington DC between 1999-2002,
primarily on trade policy issues. He has also worked for Weber Shandwick, KPMG
and the Democratic National Committee.
Luke holds an MSc in Media and Communications Regulation and a BA (Hons) in Communications
.

Matthew
Prime
Matthew has been a copywriter for 6 years. His previous experience has included
working for clients such as Bertelsmann and for Freemans Plc as a copywriter
and editor. Matthew's core skills include:

Elizabeth Biddlecombe
Elizabeth is a freelance telecoms writer based in San Francisco. In addition
to her journalism she hosts a weekly radio show for a local community radio
station.
Elizabeth has been writing about telecoms and communications technology since
1997, initially for EMAP's Communications International and Total Telecom magazine
and website in London. She then became West Coast editor for Total Telecom
in the US and has remained there where she is also a contributor to Wired magazine.
